[Preliminary exemption details]
◆1st to 3rd place in “Section (Ⅰ) (Ⅱ)” of Osaka International Music Competition,
and Espoir Prize winners will be exempted from the preliminaries of the “Star Division” or “Culture Division” of the Cecilia International Music Competition and will be recommended to the final round.

About the preliminary round exemption period for past winners of the Cecilia International Music Competition
The exemption period for past winners((1st to 5th place) of the Cecilia International Music Competition is a maximum of three years.
(*Basically, if participating in the same section)
However, for elementary school students only, past prize winners will be exempt from qualifying for a maximum of three years, regardless of their section.

*kids, junior high, high, university and above sections are not exempt from qualifying rounds. However, If you participate within one year after winning, a discount on qualifying fees will be applied.

Please pay attention that the final round participation fee differs from the preliminary participation fee.
Remarks on discount:
Early bird – participants who apply and pay the fee on or before December 30.
YouTube submission – participants who submit the preliminary movie via YouTube.
*Please pay for the final round application fee after you pass the preliminary round. However, participants who attend the final round without preliminary shall pay for the final round application fee at the same time of Online Application Form submission.

If you request an official accompanist at the time of application, we will accept your request once the accompaniment fee has been transferred.
Please note that if you cancel the official accompaniment after the final selection has been announced, a 50% fee will be charged.
Remarks for application
1)The school year will be as of the end of February 2025. (If you are skipping a grade and would like to participate beyond your grade level, please write down your career history, including any awards you have received. In some cases, we may not be able to accept your participation if you skip a grade.)
2) When you apply, please be precise for the minutes of your performance, both for preliminary and the final.
3)The same piece can be used for both the preliminary round and the final round (except for the recital section).
4) If the performance is shorter than the judging time, it will not affect the judging.
5)Multiple pieces are allowed within the specified time for both the preliminary and final rounds. If there are multiple pieces in the preliminary round, they must be performed consecutively. Performance times vary depending on the department.
6) Even if the performance recorded in the preliminary round exceeds the time limit, that itself will not be deducted, so there is no need to force editing.Preliminary videos can be submitted even if they are cut off during the performance or if they exceed the judging time.
7)Recordings submitted for the preliminaries must be made within one year from the start date of the preliminaries. (For 2025: 2023/12/1 to 2024/12/1) Regarding qualifying videos, performance videos from other competitions or concerts can also be submitted.
8) The Chamber music Division must include a piano or violin.
9)It is possible to apply for the piano and recital courses at the same time, but since the number of video minutes required for the preliminary round is different, please submit them separately to each department.
10) In the Recital Division, the total performance of the preliminary round and the final round must be 45 minutes, and the pieces for the preliminary round and the final round must be different.
The composition of the recital section does not affect the judging.
11)Please be sure to play with accompaniment, except for unaccompanied pieces.
12) You will be disqualified if you play different music at the final from applied one. No changes to the selection of piece will be accepted after application.
13)The list of musical careers on the application form will not affect the judging. It is not necessary to list all awards.
